Противостояние между сторонниками и противниками нынешнего правительства Таиланда достигли сегодня ночью стадии прямых столкновений, в результате чего в Бангкоке сегодня в 07:00 было объявлено чрезвычайное положение. Представители полиции Таиланда объявили о возможном привлечении армейских подразделений для обеспечения порядка в городе.


В этой связи Почётный консул России в Паттайе предлагает всем туристическим фирмам в пределах консульского округа немедленно отменить все экскурсии в Бангкок для россиян, запланированные на сегодня, 02.09.2008 и на ближайшие дни, вплоть до отмены введённого сегодня чрезвычайного положения.

The standoff between pro- and anti-government forces of Thailand has reached the stage of direct clashes between them last night; that has resulted in the state of emergency being announced for Bangkok since 07:00 am this morning. Royal Thai police officials have announced possible army involvement into public order restoration.

With this regard, The Honorary Consul of Russia requests all the travel commpanies located within her consular district, to immediately cancel any sightseeing trips to Bangkok planned for their Russian clients, for today, 02.09.2008 and for the next few days until the state of emergency is lifted.

Dear Rusian Market Travel Agents,
I would like to remind you that the office of the Honorary Consul of Russia in Pattaya provides, among others, the following services to the Russian nationals visiting Pattaya:
* Certification of Vacation Certificates (отпускные удостоверения) and Business Leave Certificates (командировочные удостоверения) to the state officials, members of the Federal Assembly, military and police officers, judges, etc., visiting Pattaya.
* Certification of Business Leave Certificates (командировочные удостоверения) to private companies' employees, visiting Pattaya on business.
To have this done, Russian national should present himself in person at the consular office at the Royal Cliff Grand within normal business hours(prior telephone appointment is recommeneded), and submit:

1. Officially issued and stamped vacation or business leave certificate with "exit from Russia" stamp

2. Proof of identity (passport or military / government-issued ID)

3. Copies of passport / ID card and vacation / business certificate (copies can be also arranged while at the consulate at a charge)
This service is free of charge for the Russian nationals.
Please note that since 2005, as we have been advised, many Russian official organizations, including Ministry of Defence,

Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Interior of Russia, no longer accept certification by hotels or travel companies, requiring the consular stamp instead.

Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation for the provinces of Cholburi and Rayong in the Kingdom of Thailand presents her compliments to the local travel agents that deal with the Russian market, and has the honor to ask for assistance in registering all the Russian employees of the above agencies, with the consular office, solely for the purpose of contact in case of emergencies.
Russian consular authorities will not provide the citizens’ registration information neither to Thai, nor to Russian authorities, and keep it confidential.
Documents required are 2 photos of any size, passport copy and filled registration form (attached).
We are not interested whether Russian national has work permit or not, whether he is here on tourist / non-immigrant visa or without visa at all. We will not disclose any submitted data to Thai authorities as per Russian consitutional and international law.
Kindly inform your Russian employees accordingly.
